What is this statement about?

This Fletcher Building Careers Privacy statement describes how Fletcher Building Limited and Fletcher Building (Australia) Pty Ltd (together referred to as Fletcher Building) collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information and how you can access and correct your personal information.  We appreciate the importance of taking proper care of your personal information. 

What is your personal information?

“Personal information” is any information that can be used to personally identify you. 

What personal information do we collect and hold?

  1. We collect information from you directly (through our Careers website and our correspondence with you) including your CV, academic transcripts, interview notes, reference information and test results.  We may also collection information about you:-
  2. from third parties (including recruiters and our associated companies);
  3. arising out of background or employment check or an employment reference (with your prior consent).  We may disclose the information you supply to us to your referees);
  4. from public sources eg social media such as LinkedIn or public registers.

How do we use your information?

We will hold your personal information securely on Fletcher Building’s candidate database and other HR systems.  Except where disclosure is necessary to help us process, administer and store your information,  Fletcher Building will hold the information you provide in confidence and will not disclose it to third parties, without your consent.  We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold is stored in a secure environment protected from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

The information about you will be used by Fletcher Building for human resources and business management purposes including:-

  1. conducting background and employment checks;
  2. administering recruitment processes including for use by potential hiring managers and our People and Performance team for the purpose of establishing your suitability, eligibility and qualifications for potential employment with Fletcher Building;
  3. managing your employment and your employment relationship;
  4. statistical analysis (and related reporting).

If you accept employment with Fletcher Building, your information will become part of Fletcher Building Group's employee records, to be held in accordance with all applicable laws, the terms of your employment and Fletcher Building Group policies (as may be amended from time to time) for the purposes set out above. 

The Fletcher Building Group may from time to time adopt different record-keeping and information access systems (such as human resources databases and web-based intranet systems), which may involve transfer, disclosure and processing of employees’ personal information between different jurisdictions, companies, business units and representatives within the Fletcher Building Group.

Who will we provide your information to?

We may disclose your information to third parties where permitted or required by law or for any of the purposes mentioned above. Third parties may include:

  1. all companies within the Fletcher Building Group and partnerships & joint ventures Fletcher Building Group companies;
  2. our agents, professional advisers, business partners and other third parties that provide services to us or for us;
  3. a regulator or government body (where required by law); and
  4. any other party authorised by you.

What rights do you have?

You are responsible for keeping your information up to date.  You have rights of access to, and correction of your personal information. If information held about you is inaccurate, please notify Fletcher Building so that it can be corrected.
